What’s really important in education is how professors strive towards better teaching methods. One method is to have guest speakers over. Various professors even like to share their guest speakers with the general public. Here’s a couple of examples that were mentioned before and a couple of new ones:
- The U.S. Embassy is visiting our English for International Affairs and International Finance classes with chats about the American Revolution and the Financial Crisis.
- During November, conferences about International Cooperation will be held in the PUCE’s auditoriums for not only our students but also the “Global Community” thanks to the help of Gabriela Tavella, the Italian Political Science School- SPICES,our dear LEAI professors namely: Paola Lozada, Cecilia Vaca, Gaetano Servidio and last but definitely not least, Fabian Valdivieso.
- Joan Gavey will also have a member of the Huaorani tribe to liven up her Reading without Nonsense Seminar and
- David Sotomayor has invited the prominent economist Luna Osorio to talk about Economics and Commerce in Ecuador not only to complement his classes but to share with the rest of the PUCE.
Whether these talks, speeches or chats are taking place in a class room or are being transmitted live; yes, you read right, they are a magnificent way to learn. I would like to take the opportunity to say thank you to all LEAI professors for their permanent efforts to keep their classes on their toes.
